I recently re-visited Hong Kong in the summer, and it was good to be back after 5 years! It honestly feels like my second home, and it was great to see my other relatives and friends again who live there. Hong Kong is such a vibrant city with lots of things to see and do, so if you’re planning to visit it one day, here are some of my recommendations on where to visit!

Contents

Causeway Bay

Home to some of the big-name designer brands, it is a shopping paradise. There are so many malls and restaurants, as well as rooftop bars dazzling cityscape. If you venture a little further you will find the largest public park in Hong Kong Island and also the large Hysan shopping mall.
Mong Kok

Another one of Hong Kong’s most popular markets, including Ladies’ Market and many other shopping streets. Mong Kok has entire street sections that are dedicated to sneakers, flowers, kitchenware, goldfish and birds. They also have a lot of street food! You can pick up the latest Japanese fashion and accessories at Shantung Street and Dundas Street, Etude House for Korean makeup products, and if you want to shop indoors you can head over to Langham Place.
Tsim Sha Tsui

Another very popular destination for tourists, you can visit Hong Kong’s beautiful Victoria harbour here – the lights look stunning at night! There’s also many restaurants and large malls including The One, iSQUARE and K11. You can find luxury designer goods too if you walk down Canton Road.
Sai Kung

Also known as the ‘back garden of Hong Kong’, Sai Kung is great for those who love adventure, nature, outdoors and photography! There are many beautiful scenic spots, beaches, hiking trails and fishing villages if you want to get out of the urban jungle for a while. There are also many seafood restaurants that serve a variety of seafood dishes – check out the floating seafood market where the local fisherman sell fresh catches of the day!
Lan Kwai Fong

If you enjoy the nightlife, then this place is for you! Lan Kwai Fong is one of the most popular nightlife hot spots in Hong Kong, and has many restaurants, bars and clubs. The area is very crowded though but has a great atmosphere!
