Goodbye 2020, hello 2021. Guys, we made it! What a tumultuous year it’s been. I usually look forward to writing my little yearly summary in the new year, but this time, I avoided it. I don’t even know what to say, because honestly, most of the time in 2020 was spent at home doing nothing much at all. I think we all struggled in our own ways during this pandemic, and it has been a hard, emotional but reflective year. In between random breakdowns and questioning my existence, I did manage to enjoy the little things in life, have more time to myself and appreciate all that I already have.
Going forward
Hopefully 2021 will be better than 2020, even by a little bit. I know we are still in the middle of a pandemic and we should continue to be cautious, wear our masks, socially distance and follow the guidelines. Our efforts will pay off eventually. Going into Tier 4 (UK) during the Christmas period wasn’t the way we wanted to celebrate, but I’m grateful that I was able to spend it with my family, who are all healthy and well. Even though we couldn’t see our friends or loved ones much this year, we were still able to connect with each other through the use of technology. I can’t wait for the day when we can see each other in person and hug again!
I’m not setting any new year’s resolutions this year, as I don’t need the extra pressure to achieve them. The only thing that matters right now is staying healthy, staying sane, and taking everything one step at a time. No rush, you do you <3
Wishing you all good health and happiness in the new year! Be kind and stay strong, we’ll get through this together xx
